Friend Request

‍Friendrequest is a unique social app, focused on encouraging real-world friendships through shared interests and fun activities. Live data feeds provide real bookable events that can be shared with users, encouraging physical meet-ups and genuine relationships rather than online ‘followers’.

When browsing profiles the user is presented with Smart Introduction Card, which considers the personality traits and interests of both users to showcase events and interests most likely to engage the user.

Foresight Mobile were initially engaged during the prototyping stage of the product to manage the iOS development, as the size of the project proved to be overwhelming to the current staff. After a period of training and re-architecture the app development was brought back on-track and delivered to expectations.

Foresight also designed the production architecture and deployed the back-end functionality to Google Cloud Services using Kubernetes Engine. This provided a cost-effective solution during development as hardware could be shared among development and staging environments. During production the architecture was updated to ensure scaleability and enhance security.

When Foresight Mobile first joined forces with the Friendrequest team, they found themselves stepping into a project that had become too challenging for the current team to handle. The sheer scope and complexity of the iOS development had overwhelmed the staff, and that's where our expertise came into play.

At Foresight Mobile, we are well-versed in handling projects of all sizes, so we were more than capable of stepping in during the crucial prototyping stage to manage the iOS development. Recognising the need for immediate action, we began by providing essential training and support to the staff, empowering them to better understand and tackle the challenges at hand.

As the project progressed, we also took on the responsibility of re-architecting the app, ensuring that it was brought back on-track and aligned with the customer's expectations. To push the project forward Foresight Mobile were engaged as CTO through our Fractional CTO service. We continued to work closely with the Friendrequest team, collaborating with them to make sure the product was market-ready and performing in line with its product goals. Our partnership went beyond just development, as we provided guidance, management, and support every step of the way.

Foresight Mobile's involvement brought the Friend Request project back on track. By taking on the Fractional CTO role, re-architecting the iOS app, and migrating the backend to Google Kubernetes Engine, the team could deliver a stable, scalable product where previously the complexity had become unmanageable.
